Radar & storm tracking

Animated precipitation radar. Frames before the current time are observed radar returns; frames after it are a short-range nowcast model — they are labelled separately and are not a precise prediction of where rain will fall.

“Use my location” asks your browser for your coordinates so we can load your local forecast and any official warnings for your area. Your coordinates are used for that request only — they are not stored on our servers, sold, or used to build a profile. If your browser blocks location, we fall back to an approximate city-level lookup from your IP address.

Radar imagery shows where precipitation was detected, not where it is guaranteed to be. Commercial deployment of these radar tiles requires a RainViewer commercial licence and OpenStreetMap tile usage policy compliance — both are tracked in the source registry.
