Guardian Mode

Everything else on WeatherSignal is hidden here. This screen shows only what is happening where you are, what to do about it, and who to call.

“Use my location” asks your browser for your coordinates so we can load your local forecast and any official warnings for your area. Your coordinates are used for that request only: they are not stored on our servers, sold, or used to build a profile. If your browser blocks location, we fall back to an approximate city-level lookup from your IP address.

Choose a location above and this screen will fill in with active threats, safety steps, and emergency contacts for that area.

Emergency numbers

  • 911: life-threatening emergency, fire, medical, or rescue (United States)
  • 988: Suicide and Crisis Lifeline
  • 211: local shelter, food, and utility help
  • Gas leak or downed power line: leave the area first, then call your utility and 911

Outside the United States, call your national emergency number. WeatherSignal is not an emergency service and cannot dispatch help.

Weather Signal is free for everyone. Donations keep it running, and a portion goes to our Community Relief program, which helps a household with an essential bill at the end of the month. Members can enter for free without donating.
